He hadn't really dreamed in about three years. Maybe it was where his mind had been, maybe it was how he'd conditioned himself. And maybe it was just because he felt more relaxed with Jack in the TARDIS. But he was dreaming, now.
He was standing on a snow-covered hill, looking out over a city. Spires and psychic railways and people, all bustling about and living. Jack was down there, he could see him, flickering in and out of the skyline.
"Your song is ending soon," a calm voice told him. Ood Sigma, he must've been back on the Ood Sphere. He kept his eyes on Jack, on what little he could see (remember) of him. Snow was moving around them, but he couldn't feel it. He couldn't feel anything.
"Events have occurred and are occurring and without the timeline intact, the universe will end."
"What do you mean?" he asked. "It's just one piece of the timeline."
"The end of time."
The Doctor turned to face Ood Sigma, but the Ood's eyes were bright, glowing red, and he roared as the Doctor turned, foam spewing from his tentacles.
The Doctor's eyes snapped open. He was laying on the floor of the console room, a warm hand against his forehead.

"Ow. I think I hit my head on the way down."
