An MoD statement on the matter is a little more expansive. It says: "The MoD has no opinion on the existence or otherwise of extra-terrestrial life. However, in over 50 years, no UFO report has revealed any evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom."

Personally, I think this is to cover up for the fiascos of the last few years like that ship we had fly into Big Ben, that thing we had in the sky and that big old Christmas star. And what're those robot things with the plungers that were around? Not to mention that incident with all the children stopping!
The UK needs Torchwood now more than ever! Better put ourselves on mauve alert!
