Jack laughed. It was a laugh that was tired and almost even manic.
"You won't get out," he said with a false confidence, "because I'm not going to let you. You should know that I don't give in easily. Give me enough credit, come on."
He wiped a hand up over his face, as though he might be able to blink this all away. But it wasn't so easy. What if the Master could get to people he cared for. What if... no. No he couldn't think of that.
