But then they never did seem to get what they wanted, even what seemed so utterly simple.

"I know you are," he whispered and kissed him again. He had one of his hands against the Doctor's cheek, brushing gently with the backs of his fingers.

"I'm so sorry for this," he whispered to him, and with one more small kiss, he moved the hand against his lips, the small pill in his fingertips. And he pushed it between the Doctor's lips.
