"Well I don't know," Jack said as he leaned back a little in his chair. "You tell me. What do you think I do?" It was evasive, of course, and not even subtly so. But it continued the game, and it seemed to Jack Alex had quite the analytical mind, and trying to get her to work him out might hopefully appeal to that nature.

He took a drink from his glass and placed it back down. "Good choice," he said, before crossing his arms over his chest and watching her, as if waiting for her answer.

"Go on," he said, "impress me."
