"The hell you are," the Doctor said. He pushed through his disgust and reached out for Jack's hand. He caught it in as firm a grip as he could.

"I've got a TARDIS, and she'll get us out of here. I'm not leaving you behind." It was idiotic, possibly, but he felt like that was the most important thing. He couldn't leave Jack behind.

Idiotic, of course. He never left anyone behind, ever.
