"Well good," Jack said, "I'd hate for it to be taken any other way." Smiling down at her still, his fingers twisted and he tucked back behind her ear a few strands of her hair that had come loose from its delicate hold.

There was a pause when her hand was held out to his, but it was nothing more than a moment, and he was soon closing his hand around hers.
