Jack looked at the Doctor and at the cuff links in his hand. He tried to make sense of it. If the Doctor had stolen them then he was being a rather brilliant liar. And he wasn't lying, Jack could tell that. He knew that. Maybe something in his eyes, a confusion or a concern.

"Those are mine," he said, as he watched him look at them. "So, Doctor. If you're not a pick pocket. Question is, what're you doing with my cuff links?"
